
PASA TOURNAMENT RULES
All tournaments are run by volunteers. Any member can be a volunteer. P.A.S.A. is a non profit association founded by local anglers. Our goal is to provide a more organized tournament trail and have the best payback possible. We also strive to assure good fishing and sportsmanship for all anglers. These goals include but are not limited to safe boating, and catch and release.
Reading and knowing PASA's Tournament Rules are the responsibility of
the member!!!!
NOTE: 2008 RULE UPDATES ARE IN RED!
1. Cheating will not be tolerated. Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation is expected from all members. Any infraction of these fundamental principles may cause disqualification for current and future events.
2. Members must abide by all PA & NY fishing and boating laws.
3. 2 person per teams. 16 years old and younger must be with adult at
least 18 years old.
4. All boats will be checked prior to tournament. Boats must have aerated livewells;
all live fish must be returned to the water after conclusion of weigh-in; you
may not take live fish from the lake of any of our events.
5. Life vests and throwables must be used per PA Fish & Boat Commission rules and laws. BE AWARE! WHEN USING AN INFLATABLE VEST IN PA, YOU MUST "WEAR IT AT ALL TIMES" OR ALSO HAVE THE STANDARD LIFE VESTS IN THE BOAT FOR EACH PERSON IN THE BOAT. Check the PA Fish & Boat regulations. 6. Pre-registration may be done at PASA meetings,
tournaments or by mail. Otherwise registrations begin 2 hours before tournament
launch time and close 15 minutes before launch time.
Late registrations will launch after other members and return at the same weigh-in time.
7. Bass must be 12 " ( mouth to tail with tail pressed together), or larger.
No courtesy measurements. Only tournament
limit may be in your livewell at any time !!!
Fish
weighed in under 12 inches
will be disallowed and a 1 pound penalty will be applied. Two 2 short
fish = disqualification; LUNKER must be alive!!!!!
8. Our goal is to keep fish alive.
All fish excessively injured or dead
fish brought to the scale, will be assessed a 1/4 pound
penalty; more
than 2 {two} dead fish will result in disqualification.
DEAD FISH MAY NOT BE CULLED! Lunkers must be alive!
9. Only artificial lures and pork rind may be used for catching fish. No trolling.
Only one
rod may be used at a time.
10. Late boats will be assessed 1 lb. per minute; over 10 minutes
disqualification.
11. No Leaving of boats while on the water to fish, except to retrieve a lure
or for a restroom break, or for a boat emergency. No fishing is allowed by
either angler while either angler is out of the boat. Members seen jigging docks while
walking them will be disqualified. Member must contact
official on water or on the shore in order to leave boat.
12. Members must report back to weigh-in, whether you have
fish or not. Boat number and fish must be reported to official in
ORANGE vest at the end of dock or launch.
13. Any designated TOURNAMENT
official has the right to board your boat to inspect it and its livewells. The directors
and PASA BOARD will enforce all rules and penalties. THE
TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS and BOARD DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
14. Boating Distance: Moving boats no closer than 25
feet; An anchored boat (with BOTH motors up) can not be
approached any closer than 75 feet.
15. The removal of the ORANGE identifying tape from the boat will cause disqualification!!
16. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on boats.
17. Practice days are allowed. NO closed waters prior to CHAMPIONSHIP. There are no off limits areas. All anglers must abide by the laws of the State in which the tournament is being held, the PA Fish & Boat Commission, and any specific lake rules.
18. All protests must be filed in writing, signed , witnessed and given to the tournament
director within 10 minutes of the final
contestant weighing in. Monies will be held pending review.
19. ALL monies will be divided between team members. Monies will be split in
a tie.
20. CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION: The top 32
points teams will qualify for the championship.
21. BREAKDOWNS;
can be communicated to another team no closer than 25' away,
breakdown must be communicated to officials on shore,
the reporting team or any other team who's weighed in their fish may retrieve
the broken down team. (one disabled team member must remain with fish),
disabled team must report to dock official by official weigh-in time or be
disqualified. {example 1pm or 6am}
