PASA’s 200 POINT SCORING SYSTEM
PASA is implementing a 200 point scoring system. Beginning this year the top 32 points teams will qualify for the championship. The top points team will be the “Team of the Year”. The top three points teams will receive cash prizes.
The winning team of each tournament will receive 200 points. 2nd place 199, third place 198 and so on until all teams that have weighed fish have been awarded points.
The team that weighs-in the lunker will receive 5 bonus points.
Teams that enter and participate in the tournament but do not weigh in any fish will receive 50 points. Teams cannot pay the entrance fee and not fish the tournament.
Teams that do not fish a tournament will not receive any points.
There is no mandatory minimum number of tournaments a team must fish since no points are awarded for teams that do not participate in any given tournament.
A member may compete with different partners. Each different partner will be considered a NEW team for points. In order to make the top 32 teams for the championship it is in the best interest of each member to fish most if not all tournaments with the same partner.
Beginning this year placing in a tournament will not qualify a team for the championship. There will be no need for doing “bump downs”. The point system will reward teams that fish more tournaments. It will reward teams that consistently finish high in the tournaments but do not place. A point system will level the playing field and allow more teams to be competitive. It rewards teams that fish PASA tournaments even if they do not weigh any fish.
